Coach’s Biography
Coach Aaron "Florida Flash" Goodman as an athlete: Track sprinter at Paxon Sr. High in Jacksonville, Florida: School record holder in 200 meters, 4 by 100, 4 by 200 and 4 by 400 meter relays. Fastest 200 meter split in Paxon's History 20.8 at the FAMU Relays in Tallahassee, Florida. Brought team from last place to first, and actually got caught at the finish line. lol! As an 11th grader, 3rd best in schools history in high jump 6 ft. 2 inches off of concrete surface..
Was teams sprint coach, while competing under Head Coach Marvin White. Won the Junior Olympics at Florida’s Sunshine State Games in 4 by 100 meter relay representing the city of Jacksonville. Scholarship offers from Florida State, Mississippi State, Boston College in Football. Would sign letter of intent with Alabama State U. Late bloomer with S.A.T. and A.C.T. and had to attend Junior College. "There's good JC's out there for young women and men."-Coach Goodman

In his two years for Riverside Community College while participating in 1993 Spring Football for the legendary Head Coach Barry Meier. Note:On Day 1:Goodman would get off the Greyhound Bus, after traveling 3 days straight. Ran a 4.41-40 yards in muddy grass. The next day Coach Meier took Goodman to meet RCC's Track Coach. That same day, Goodman ran a school record at the time- 9.2 flying 100 on dirt. Coach Scott Parks had 9.1 on his watch. "The Coaches told me I could wait next week to run." Goodman replied, "I'm not promised next week, let's ride."
Coach Goodman won a California Junior College State Team Title in 1994 under USA Hall of Fame Coach Ted Banks(Coach Banks retired after this meet). Was a member of the colleges record breaking 4 by 200 meter relay team. Coached two Men teams for RCC in 2004 and 2005 to break his 4 by 200 meter relay record, that stood for 10 years.
As a football player Coach Goodman achieved many honors, as the best coverman in the state of Florida as a high school senior. Was named one of the best Covermen in the Southern States as a Cornerback by College Scouts, breaking up a school record 33 career passes. Also had 2 interceptions returned for touchdowns totaling 137 yards. Nicknamed "Prime" after Deion "PrimeTime" Sanders by his peers in 10th grade.
School record 4.27 seconds in the 40 yd dash, record still standing. "The day before the 40 testing, my Paxon Eagles teammates Baron Weeks, Malcolm Thomas and Aaron "Ram" Pickney and I were shopping for cleats. I was playing with a stopwatch and it landed on 4.27sec. I told them, I'm going to run this tomorrow. It took a minute, then Big Weeks said yeah! Prime good for a 4.2. Anytime I was about to do something big (mainly an interception for a touchdown). I went to Weeks first.-Coach Goodman.
As a College Football player Coach Goodman played Junior College ball at RCC, returning an interception for a touchdown in his first Collegiate game against Palomar JC. Accepting a scholarship at Azusa Pacific U. Coach Goodman was used to cover the opponent’s best receiver yet was the number one headhunter on the kick off team. Left school to care for his newborn son.
He eventually would transfer to Chapman U. Where he was nominated Honorable Mention All American at Defensive Back. Having only 24 passes thrown at him, Coach Goodman had two interceptions (An interception returned for a 62 yard touchdown against Harden Simmons, Texas). He broke up 11 of those passes. Always drawing double and triple coverage on punts. He downed 6 punts on the one-yard line. Was the teams mvp against Menlo College breaking up several passes, downed 1 punt on the 1/2 a yard line, with game going into triple overtime Menlo decided for a two point conversion instead of an extra point to tie the game. Coach Goodman blitz from his cornerback position and sacked the quarterback rolling out to win the game for Chapman U. in 1998.
Coach Goodman gained a lot of attention from the NFL and Canadian Football League Player Personnel, yet due to tearing his right quad muscle during his NFL private workouts. He began Sports Acting and Coaching. Always running the fastest 40's, and blazing 3.8/3.9 in the pro shuttle on average. (NfL requirement for pro shuttle for a defensive back is 4.2 seconds).
Coach Goodman jumped right into his long-term goal of coaching athletes. Became Riverside Community College Women and Men Sprints Coach in 1999-2000 season. Won 2005 Southern California JC Men Track and Field Championship(1st in College's History), would win the same Championship for Long Beach City College Men in 2006.
Only Coach in CCAA Southern California History to bring a Junior College Southern Cal Championship to two different College Mens Programs (in back to back seasons). RCC Tigers 2005 and LBCC Vikings 2006.
Coach Goodman, "At RCC it was expected to me, and needed to re-launch this new milleneum for Tigers Track. I got hired when the program was on probation and Moreno Valley kids drove to Mt.Sac. The dirt track they said was the reason. I've never put so much of myself into a job than those six years."
"The following year for Long Beach City College wasn't cake neither. I was not wanted at first, and was doubted. That's that RCC Coach, I don't like RCC. That's what the kids would say. It went from that, to Man I've never run this fast."
Former RCC Tigers Francis "Junay" Nunez and Damein "D Man" White would not let me battle by myself (and refused to leave Long Beach City College without me). They came up big for another Championship for us. Both Programs (RCC and LBCC) are back to their winning ways."
Now entering his 11th season, presently still coaching at the Collegiate level. Coach Goodman has helped over 50 plus athletes get Athletic Scholarships. He has the best results from 2000 to present amongst California Junior College Track Sprint Coaches at dropping athlete’s times in their sprints through technique.
Also has an Individual California J.C. State Champion in every Open Sprint Event and Long Jump. On the Womens side- 100m,200m and Long Jump. The Mens side 100m,200m,400m, and Long Jump. Two years in a row having fastest 400m. relay times in the State for California Junior College. RCC 2005-40.55, and LBCC 40.03 and a 3rd best of 40.09. **Both years did not win State 400m. relay title.
In 2002, Goodman was RCC's Defensive Back Coach, where 4 starters and 4 reserves received Athletic Scholarships. Free/Strong Safety Kinte Haynes was voted to JUCO All American team. While coaching he has starred in several Football Commercials in Hollywood as a Professional Sports Stuntman. Coach Goodman is a member of the Screen Actors Guild, also doing Sports Modeling, Theatrical Acting, in Commercials and Films. Fall of 2008, Goodman had a Feature Roles on the show Samantha Who? Coach Goodman is playing a Delivery Man, on the TV show Sharks a Police Sergeant, and on the TV show Bones an FBI Agent.
Most of all Coach Goodman is known as a Mentor, and Motivational Speaker to Youths throughout the Southland. "Youngsters you can do it, don't let your own parents tell you that you can't be successful. I've been in California for over 15 years now, without any relatives but my young son.
